Central Saint Martins

Art Criticism Short Course

Next available: 6 – 10 July 2019
10:00 — 16:00

I teach art criticism at Central Saint Martins. The only classes publicly available are those that make up the 10-week evening course which runs from January and from September/October every year and a 1-week course in July.

The short course consists of an introduction to art criticism, presentations from artists and curators, gallery visits, writing workshops, tutorials and seminars. The online course handbook provides recommended reading week by week, along with exhibition and event suggestions, current opportunities for writers and artists, and resources for related training.

Students on the course include artists looking to critique and present their own work, graduates looking for the training and confidence to take them on to post-graduate study, and art enthusiasts simply looking to better engage with exhibitions and to meet other people who want to do the same.
